Coupeville is one of Washington's oldest towns, with a wharf out over Penn Cove and mussel rafts below it. Ebey's Landing, just west, is a national historical reserve — a bluff trail over prairie that farmers have worked since the 1850s, with the Olympics across the strait.
Done as a loop — ferry one way, Deception Pass bridge the other — it is a full day and one of the best in the region.
