Snoqualmie Falls drops 268 feet — about a hundred more than Niagara — and it is forty minutes from downtown Seattle on a good road. That combination is why this is the trip we recommend most often, and the only out-of-city trip we will confidently put inside a six-hour cruise turnaround.
The free upper platform is two minutes from where we park. If you want the lower trail to river level, it is about twenty minutes round trip and steep but paved. Five minutes further on is North Bend, where Twin Peaks was filmed, with Mount Si standing over it.
