The free program most Seattle cruise passengers have never heard of.
Port Valet checks your bags on the ship and hands them back at your home airport. It is free, it is run by the Port of Seattle with the cruise lines and airlines, and it turns a debarkation morning spent minding suitcases into a whole usable day. We do not run it and we do not profit from it — we recommend it because it makes the day we do sell better.
How it works
You enrol before you disembark — online before the cruise, or on the form the ship delivers to your stateroom during the sailing. On the last night you tag your bags as directed and put them out as usual. They are checked through to your final airport with your airline, you receive your luggage tags and, on most airlines, boarding passes — and you walk off the gangway with your hand luggage and nothing else. The next time you touch the bags is the carousel at home.
The service costs nothing. Two honest caveats from the Port's own page: your airline's standard checked-bag fees still apply, and bags over 50 pounds are not accepted.
What it does to your last day
Everything on a debark day is normally shaped by the suitcases. Send them ahead and the shape changes: off the ship between 07:00 and 09:00, an evening flight, and the hours in between are simply yours. That is a full city day, Snoqualmie Falls, or Woodinville — ending at the Sea-Tac kerb two hours before your departure. And if you do not qualify — wrong airline, wrong line, a next-day flight — the day is not lost. Your bags travel in our vehicle at no charge, which is most of the same freedom with one extra minute of loading.

What is Port Valet?

How do I sign up for Port Valet?
Before the cruise, online through the program's enrollment site — or during the cruise, on the form delivered to your stateroom. Sign up before you disembark; it cannot be added at the kerb on the morning.
Does Port Valet change what I can do on debarkation day?
Completely. With no luggage to manage, a debark morning plus an evening flight becomes a genuine full day out. Even without Port Valet, your bags ride in our vehicle at no charge — the difference is walking through your day with nothing at all.
