Dale Chihuly is from Tacoma, and the Museum of Glass is the closest you get to watching the work actually made: tiered seating around a live hot shop inside a tilted steel cone on the waterfront, with a narrator explaining what the team is doing while they do it.
The Chihuly Bridge of Glass crosses the interstate to connect it with downtown and the Washington State History Museum. Add Point Defiance Park and this becomes a full day.
