The Museum of Pop Culture: Nirvana, Hendrix, science fiction and a building that argues with itself.
Paul Allen commissioned it, Frank Gehry designed it in 2000, and the shell is either the best or the worst building in the city depending on who you ask. The monorail runs straight through it, which settles the argument in its favour.
Inside it is Seattle music history done properly — Hendrix and Nirvana are locals here, not exhibits — plus deep science-fiction and horror galleries and a sound lab you can actually play in.
