The UW Quad
The University of Washington's Liberal Arts Quadrangle, which for a week and a half each spring is the most photographed place in the state.
The cherries are Yoshino, moved here from the Arboretum in 1964 and now well over ninety years old. Peak bloom is usually somewhere in the last ten days of March and lasts about a week — earlier in a warm year, and no two years agree.
Out of season the Quad is still worth twenty minutes for the collegiate Gothic and the view down Rainier Vista, which lines the mountain up at the end of the axis.

- In bloom week, go early. By eleven there are more tripods than students.
- Rainier Vista points straight at the mountain — check the gap between the buildings.
