Juki Iida came from Tokyo to lay the garden out in 1960 and personally sited the stones, most of them brought down from the Cascades. It is a stroll garden: the path is the design, and it reveals the pond a piece at a time.
Best in April for the cherry and azalea, and again in late October for maple. Quiet, small, and the correct antidote to a morning of downtown.
