Opened in 2018 as a workspace for Amazon employees, the Spheres are three interlocking glass domes planted as a cloud forest. The public can see the interior on limited days and can always see the understory exhibit next door.
It is a twenty-minute stop, and mostly it is about what the neighbourhood used to be — South Lake Union was warehouses and a bus barn twenty years ago.
